If you are looking for the perfect gift or are thinking of upgrading
your camera, look no further than the Canon PowerShot SX230
HS. This 12.1 megapixel, 28mm digital beauty
now comes with GPS, DIGIC 4,
14x Zoom with stabilizer, ISO3200,
1080p video, a UA lens, and much more. It’s so loaded
with extras that the Technology Image Press Association awarded it the
TIPA 2011 Best Superzoom Camera.

Available in black, red and blue, the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS comes
with a wrist strap, lithium battery pack and charger, both AV and USB
interface cables, and a CD Rom loaded with tips for digital users.
Now with GPS
You no longer have to come home from vacation and wonder exactly
where that interesting shot came from. With internal global positioning
software the camera records the local time and location of all your
pictures and video. If you want to make a video log of your journeys
you can combine it with map utility software. You can also create
customized maps, complete with photos to provide a lasting memory of
that trip of a lifetime.

1080p HD Video
You can utilize both the 14X Optical Zoom and the 65x Digital Zoom
built into the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS while shooting high definition
stereo video. Image stabilization lets you capture the kids on the run,
and you no longer have to manually focus while combining video and zoom
capabilities; this can even work in auto mode. When you are done
filming for the day you can combine your clips into one continuous
video with the Movie Digest Mode. Hook the camera up to your HD TV with
an HDMI connector and share your creation with friends and family.

Advanced Features
The more experienced photographer will love the Canon PowerShot
SX230 HS as much as the beginner. Just turn off the Auto Mode and you
can control every aspect of the shot: focus, ISO setting (adjusts from
100 to 3200 ISO) and aperture. Crop pictures and adjust the color and
filter while still in the camera. And of course the Canon red-eye
detection and red-eye correction are standard in the PowerShot
line.
Mode Versatility
The Canon PowerShot SX230 HS comes with an
increased number of scene modes, 32 in all, to accommodate every
picture setting and adjusts to the setting most appropriate for your
picture. And if you are looking for that special effect, just turn off
the auto select and choose whatever you desire. In addition to the
Miniature Movie and Fish Eye effect, Cannon has added two more creative
modes; Toy Camera and Monochrome. You can make posters, film fireworks,
create an underwater effect, swap colors, and even film video in slow
motion, a great plus when trying to perfect that pitch or bat
swing.

Want to take continuous still shots of the action? Press down the
shutter and take high speed, continuous shots. The Smart Shutter
technology snaps a picture when someone smiles, winks or enters the
picture. You don’t have to miss the baby’s laugh; the camera can snap
the picture instantly. This great feature doesn’t make you wait between
those shots for processing time.
Amazing Photo Quality
Canon’s leading edge technology comes together in the Canon
PowerShot SX230 HS to assure crisp, clear photos every time. Low light
is no problem with the HS System and DIGIC 4 image processing – in
fact, you won’t even need to use the flash. Contrast correction, face
recognition, white balancing and image stabilization all create a
professional finished product. Just as no two pictures are the same,
neither are light settings. The smart auto flash technology evaluates
the light available and automatically adjusts the flash intensity.

What People are Saying about the PowerShot SX230 HS
|
If this camera had a F2 Aperture like the Canon S95, it
would be Canon's best point and shoot camera released to
date, but there's a trade off when you want zoom. Both
cameras are neck and neck in my book with the S95 edging it
out by a hair because of the F2. |

Everyone seems to agree that the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS creates
incredible prints and video alike. Video advancements like
incorporating both zoom lenses and the ability to use auto focus so you
can concentrate on the shoot and not on the mechanics get rave reviews.
More advanced photographers are happy with the ability to adjust the
photo right in the camera, but would love to be able to use long
shutters speeds at higher ISO setting.
The Canon PowerShot SX230
HS has a lot of features that many buyers are completely
satisfied with. This camera definitely comes recommended.

I recommend this camera for anyone needing a super zoom
with GPS. Just note the slightly bulky size and need to
carry an extra battery. |
